What is Circles of Peace for Youth (CoPY)?

The Circles of Peace for Youth (CoPY) program is a Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP) specifically designed as an early intervention for youth demonstrating problematic behaviors in intimate partner relationships. As a branch of the Vermont-certified Circles of Peace Program, CoPY is grounded in Restorative Justice principles, emphasizing accountability, empathy, and atonement.

What Does the CoPY Program Look Like?

In the CoPY program, participants are guided through a restorative process that encourages them to reflect on harmful actions and understand the impact on both their partners and the broader community. With a focus on empathy and personal growth, youth are supported in recognizing their potential to communicate better, form healthier relationships, and pursue positive life outcomes.

Facilitated by highly trained volunteers and professionals, the CoPY program also provides education on domestic violence and relationship dynamics, empowering participants with tools for change.
